Where can I operate my mobile food business?

There are a lot of different options when it comes to the location for a food truck or trailer. Some customers prefer to look for multiple locations to spread brand awareness while others want one location for customers to count on, both have advantages and disadvantages. When you're looking for a location for your food truck try calling a local commercial property manager, they often have office buildings that offer food truck Fridays as a perk to their cubicle-bound employees. Local large construction sites have the potential to be good spots for a multiple location truck. If you do have multiple locations you will need to consider keeping your social media pages updated daily or have an app made for your business so customers can find you, order ahead and pay. Many cities are using vacant land for food truck parks. Some include dog parks and playgrounds which create an excellent draw for customers.

Can customers supply the equipment?

Customers can supply the equipment however we don't recommend it. Any cost savings would be lost as we would have to charge individually for receiving/forklift handling, installation, conversion kits, gas hoses, custom fabricated steel brackets, as well as the labor to maneuver the often large equipment into a small space. We aim to provide our customers with competitive equipment prices if you have a valid quote from a competitor we would gladly try and match if not beat their prices. It can become quite difficult to coordinate the receiving and delivery of commercial equipment and to match it up with the timing in your build-out, which is best left to us.

What does the standard buildout consist of?

Interior finishes include Stainless Steel, Aluminum or FRP for walls and ceilings. Our walls are first demoed, then insulated, lined with plywood then skinned with aluminum or stainless steel. For our flooring options, we have metal diamond plated or rubber coin.

Each unit includes a lockable concession window with built-in awning. Concession window designs can vary some with 1 serving spot others with 2. See our concession window options for ideas.

All of our units, with only a few exceptions, have a plumbing package that includes a 4 sink cabinet which includes a 3 basin wash, rinse, sanitize sink and a separate hand wash sink. The 4 sinks are required for most food vending applications.
Most buildouts will require electrical installation which includes 2 interior and 2 exterior lights, 8-10 outlets, when required, a document showing the electrical plans and certification for our master electrician can be provided.

Propane installation is needed when serving hot food (electric units can be used on occasion but rarely are enough power to keep up with commercial applications). Our propane package includes the 100lb tank, locking cabinet with exterior access and 2 vents, propane lines installed to each appliance and shut off valves.

A/C's are included in our standard buildouts as it is important to keep the interior temperature cool enough for both your employees and your equipment. One A/C is satisfactory in keeping the appliances from overheating but a second one may be required to cool the unit more thoroughly.
The exhaust fan/hood is also required when cooking with an open flame. All pieces of cooking equipment must be below the hood. Fire suppression is not required in all places but is required by many insurance carriers.
